Bo’s Lasting Lessons
Start the college football season off right! Join us on Saturday, September 20, for a lively presentation by John U. Bacon, coauthor, with former University of Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler, of Bo’s Lasting Lessons: The Legendary Coach Teaches the Timeless Fundamentals of Leadership, which is receiving excellent reviews from the sports and business press alike. Bacon will be reading from the book, sharing a few of Bo’s timeless principles, telling a few unforgettable Bo stories, and answering your questions.
Sports writer and commentator, Bacon has written for TIME, The New York Times, ESPN The Magazine, and Sports Illustrated, among others, earning national honors for his work. He has authored five books on business and sports and is an acclaimed public speaker who has given talks from Vancouver to Sao Palo for corporations, colleges and communities. He also teaches sports history and journalism at the University of Michigan and Miami University (Ohio), provides commentary on Michigan Public Radio, and hosts “Off The Field” on WTKA.com. A sample of his speeches, and reviews for his books, can be found online at: johnubacon.com.
With this program, we’re returning to our usual schedule of meeting on the third Saturday of the month at the Northwest Unitarian Universalist Church in Southfield.
